What is the resort like?
Outrigger Kona is a full-service resort on the ocean, with two outdoor pools, and a spa. If you're bringing your family there's a children's pool and a waterslide as well. Being it's Hawaii, canoeing, snorkeling, coffee plantation and cultural tours, and a host of other activities are in the area.

What is the resort price?
Outrigger Kona has granted us a very attractive room rate with the following extras:
- Conference room rates from $245/night
- Resort fees are waived (normally $30/day)
- 25% discount on Lu'au tickets for additional family members
(registrant's ticket is included in conference fee) - 20% discount on all spa services at Ho'ola Spa
- Free high-speed internet is available throughout the property
- Self-parking for $10/day (normally $35/day) - on-site car rental also available

How do I book? When should I book?
We have a limited number of rooms available at the conference rate! Therefore, we urge you to book as soon as possible! Use the link below (also available on the registration page):
PLEASE NOTE: Per Outrigger, when you book on the website the $30/day resort fee and the normal parking rate will initially show up on your reservation. It is OK to go ahead and book. The resort fee will be removed and the parking rate reduced to $10/day when the reservation is submitted.

What sort of food is included?
- September 24 - Food and drinks at the reception dinner
- September 25 - Continental breakfast and lunch, and Lu'au
- September 26 - Continental breakfast and lunch
- September 27 - Departure breakfast
In addition to food provided by the program, there are several other options on the property including a full-service restaurant, a bar/lounge, a poolside bar, and a coffee shop.
Program Philosophy
Personal wellness and workplace wellness are equally important. While mindfulness and other personal wellness techniques can help ground us and relieve short-term stress, we also believe that "you can't meditate your way out of a bad job." So we also focus on workplace stressors - and solutions.
The curriculum is solutions-oriented. We consider evidence and causes, but we also provide tools. This culminates in the last day's activity - developing an action plan. Listen, participate, share - and come away feeling not resigned but resolved.
Downtime is healthy. The schedule is not super-packed. So come and enjoy and relax. We've gone to too many jam-packed CME events ourselves over the years. Relax and unwind.
Nothing is required. Do as much or as little as you want. Or just sit by the ocean. You are the best judge of what will help you get the most out of Happy Doc Hawaii.
And it's FUN! None of us believe in morose retreats. We learn, we get tools for the future, and then we play, enjoy nature, and being in each others' company. If it's not fun, what reason is there to show up?
Families are welcome, too!
Happy Doc Hawaii is a family-friendly event! We don't charge an extra fee for the conference itself, and extra Lu'au tickets are 25% off. But there's plenty of free time in the schedule to enjoy having your family with you.
